DBT 102: Coping with Anxiety – Advanced Skills Group

This group is designed for individuals who have already completed a 12-week DBT 101 skills group with me or another therapist. Participants should have a foundational understanding of DBT, including the four core modules—Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

DBT 102 is about moving beyond learning the skills and into living them.

Rather than introducing the basics, this group focuses on integrating DBT into everyday life. Together, we will explore how to apply the skills to real-life challenges, strengthen existing habits, and troubleshoot situations where using DBT feels difficult. The group provides ongoing support, accountability, and opportunities to practice the skills in a safe and encouraging environment.

This is a unique blend of a skills group, support group, and process group. Each session will include time to:

  • Apply DBT skills to current life challenges, with a particular focus on anxiety.

  • Refresh and strengthen core DBT concepts.

  • Learn and practice advanced DBT strategies.

  • Receive support, feedback, and encouragement from other group members.

  • Explore personal patterns and obstacles that get in the way of effective coping.

Whether you're looking to maintain the progress you've made, deepen your understanding of DBT, or build greater confidence in managing anxiety, DBT 102 offers a space to continue growing long after completing the introductory course.
