Rachel Wiederhoeft, ACSW (she/they)

BIO:

I’m Rachel (she/they), ACSW (CA#131051), an Associate Clinical Social Worker at Spaces Therapy. As a relational therapist providing therapy in Highland Park and across California, I work from a parts and attachment-based perspective. My background includes a BFA in Film Production, which uniquely positions me to support those navigating creative blocks and professional burnout within the arts and entertainment industries.

I believe we show up in different ways with different people because of our unique life experiences. I work with clients to help you understand how these different parts affect your relationships, explore deeper questions about identity and liberation, and support intentional choices that align with the life you want to live.

Guiding Principles:

My guiding principles as a Highland Park therapist and social worker are rooted in anti-oppressive practice, a person-in-environment framework, and a commitment to showing up authentically. I understand that we are whole beings shaped by relationships, communities, and broader sociopolitical forces.

I attend to both your internal world and the external systems—power, privilege, and structural inequities—that impact mental health. I am not a neutral presence; I bring myself into the room with intention and transparency, aiming to cultivate a collaborative, strengths-based space where you feel empowered to move toward meaningful change.

My Style of Therapy:

Authentic: I show up as a real person in the therapy room. I don’t believe in hiding behind clinical distance; instead, I bring a grounded, genuine version of myself into our work. Our relationship matters, and I welcome conversations about how therapy feels and where you might feel stuck.

Creative: Healing is not one-size-fits-all. Drawing on my arts background, I enjoy thinking expansively about what might support you—whether that’s integrating different therapeutic approaches or finding new ways to move through creative blocks. I see therapy as an evolving process that benefits from curiosity and imagination.

Direct: I believe clarity is caring. You can expect me to offer honest, compassionate feedback and to gently name patterns that may be keeping you in a cycle of burnout. Being direct means being intentional and transparent in service of your growth; my goal is to help you gain insight and strengthen your agency.

CREATIVE: Drawing from my experience as a designer and a business owner, I bring a unique perspective to our work. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I will collaborate with you to adapt our process to your specific needs and goals, seeing your individuality as a guiding light that bridges the gap between your passions and your purpose.
